John Albert Baker

My uncle John passed away quickly Sunday 23rd August 2009.
It was quick and it was, and still is, very shocking, as yet we do not know what he died from.
Unfortunately, apart from the dr's and nurses, he died on his own and for mother, who with his wife and my dad, is torture.
To not be with someone when they pass on, to live with that thought knowing you were just a few feet away behind a wall is painful and to think they didnt know you were there excruciating. I do not envy this for my aunt or my mum, as for my mum, my uncle was the last blood relative to her mum who died almost 13 years ago (31-10-1995)
He was a cantakerous old git, who never listened, always ended up getting a slap or playful punch from my mum when he came round for a chat and catchup on saturday mornings. But you couldnt help but love him, always had a hello for me when I saw him while I was working, always getting me in trouble with my boss whenever the chats took too long.
Now it's going to be hard every friday when I expect to see him, to hear that whistle whenever my back was turned away from him, so I'd look.
But what is going to hurt more, is when myself, bf, mum, dad and niece fly out to the Dominican Republic for my 30th birthday in Dec and he's not there with us, he was coming too and he was so looking forward to it! We'd always end up talking about it, it was a surprise when he said he and his wife were coming too.

Gone too soon and taken so quickly. Miss you Uncle John, reunited with mother and sister, love you lots xxx Claire xxx
